❓ FAQ
Questions & answers
Everything parents and schools usually want to know before signing up.
Getting started
What is Yaylo?+
A family app that turns chores, routines, and learning into missions kids want to finish. Parents get a simple control center; kids get their own playful login with stars, rewards, and celebrations.
How do I get started?+
Create a free parent account, set up your family circle, add child profiles, and assign your first mission. Takes about 2 minutes.
How do my kids log in?+
Kids don't need an email. Each child gets a username and PIN, and logs in at the kid login page. There's also a family device mode for shared tablets.
Can both parents use it?+
Yes — invite a co-parent to your circle by email. You both manage missions, approvals, and rewards.
Missions, rewards and learning
What are missions?+
Chores and routines framed as missions: kids complete them, submit for approval, and earn stars. Parents approve or send back.
What are rewards and goals?+
Parents define a reward catalog (screen time, treats, outings) that kids redeem stars for; family goals let everyone contribute toward something bigger.
What is the learning library?+
Ready-made animated lessons with narration and quizzes that earn stars, included with Yaylo Plus. Some schools also publish their own lessons for their families.
Pricing and billing
What's free vs paid?+
Free forever: 1 family circle, up to 2 child profiles, core missions/goals/rewards. Yaylo Plus ($5.99/mo or $59.90/yr — 2 months free): unlimited child profiles, learning library, repeatable rewards. One plan covers the whole family.
How do I cancel or manage my subscription?+
Anytime from the billing page (Stripe customer portal). Access continues until the end of the paid period.
My school gave me a code — what do I do?+
Sign up through your school's link or enter their code at registration; if your school sponsors families, Plus is covered by them. Voucher codes can be redeemed on the billing page.
Safety and privacy
Is Yaylo safe for kids?+
Parent-directed by design: parents create profiles, approve everything, and kids can't contact strangers. No ads, no social feed, no chat with outsiders.
What data do you collect about children?+
Only what a parent provides (nickname, age band, avatar). No child email or phone. Schools only ever see aggregate, anonymized engagement — never individual child data. See our privacy policy for details (COPPA/GDPR-K).
How do I delete our data?+
Delete the account from settings. See our privacy policy for full details.
